What the pages are

The pages are general information for an owner. They are not advice about your own numbers, and reading them does not make you a client. Rules change, and they land differently on different facts, so check anything that matters for your return before you act on it.

A first call is a conversation

A first call on the calendar creates no engagement and no ongoing duty. We will say what we see, including when the honest answer is that you do not need the work yet. Work begins only when both sides sign a written engagement that names the scope and the fee.

Scope and fees

Every engagement is defined in writing before it starts. The fee named in the engagement is the fee for that written scope. Work outside it is quoted before it is done. Either side may end the engagement with a written note. You still owe fees earned to that date, and your records come back to you.

What we need from you

The work is only as good as the records it sits on. You are responsible for complete records, for what is in your own systems, and for the decisions you make. We will tell you when something does not tie, and we will not build a return on a month that has not closed.

The site itself

The words and pictures belong to the practice that publishes the site. You may read them and quote a line with credit. You may not copy the site onto another domain or feed it to a training set unless we agree in writing.

You are reading the pages in the form we published, and a wrong line is corrected on the page rather than left standing. We try to keep it accurate. Nothing here limits a liability that the law does not let us limit.

Which law applies

These terms follow the law of the State of Texas. A dispute is heard in a court of Dallas County, Texas.

A close and a return are named apart

Closing an open month and preparing a return can be one engagement or two. The writing says which. Catching up an older month is priced on its own, because that pile is not the same as keeping the month you are in.

A date on the city calendar, the sales report or the May franchise report, is included only when the scope says so. If the scope leaves that date out, the date stays outside the work, and we will tell you before it arrives.

You can end the conversation before any of that is signed. The pages stay up either way. Reading them is free, and it does not create a file.
